Peak Retreats fun family challenge

Peak Retreats fun family challenge

Award-winning French Alps specialists, Peak Retreats, have just introduced a new initiative for families on winter holidays for the 2019/20 ski season.  The ‘Winning at Winter Challenge’ has been created to celebrate every aspect of a family winter ski holiday, and to encourage families to try something new together while they are away.

Sledging fun at Val Cenis

The new Winning at Winter Challenge is aimed primarily at anyone under the age of 18, but it includes a host of activities suitable for all ages.

It comprises twenty activities – some are ski-related, such as skiing a fun track or trying a jump, but others cover fun off-the-slope experiences too, including  trying some French mountain food, making a snowman, or watching a torch-lit descent.

To take part, once you’ve booked your holiday with Peak Retreats, you simply submit photos one at a time or at the end of your ski holiday to the holiday company (by email to claire@peakretreats.co.uk), including your name and your holiday booking reference (one email per child). They will then keep a tally of how many activities you’ve completed and send out the certificates and prizes.

Anyone under 18 completing five activities will earn a bronze ‘Winning at Winter’ certificate, those who complete 10 activities a silver certificate, and those completing 15-20 of the experiences will receive a gold certificate and a buff-style neck-warmer.

Don’t forget to photograph your kids’ activities

If this sounds rather too ambitious to achieve in just one week, don’t worry as these activities can be completed over the course of more than one ski holiday with Peak Retreats to give children the chance to work towards the gold certificate.

Peak Retreats specializes in traditional resorts in the French Alps, with a wide range of apartments which offer families the advantage of being able to stick to their own timetable (breakfast in pyjamas, meals when the kids are hungry) plus providing plenty of space to relax.  Many feature indoor pools too.  As we all know, it’s these little details which can make a real difference to a family ski holiday.
