The London Ski and Snowboard Show

Teresa Fisher

This month sees the return of London’s Ski and Snowboard Show (from 31 October until 4 November), and this year it’s being billed as ‘the ultimate day out for all wintersports fans’.

The show is full of new attractions, as well as all the diehard favourites which return each year, from ice-sculpting demos to countless après-ski bars!

Whether you’re a powder hound or a total beginner there’s plenty to amuse everyone, from trying out simple turns on Warren Smith’s Skills slopes to showing off your latest jump, grab or spin (under expert guidance) on the ‘have-a-go’ airbag.

Kids always enjoy watching the pros do their trick on the big kicker, or watching the latest crazy film footage from the world’s greatest freestyle skiers and back country boarders at the pop-up cinema.

This year’s indoor ice-rink promises to be bigger and better than ever, and is always a hit with little ones.  Or why not challenge your family to a game of curling in the lanes alongside the rink?

If you’re undecided where to go for your family ski holiday this winter, you’ll find tour operators, resort reps and tourist boards from around the globe touting bargains galore in the World Resorts Village.  It’s always fun brochure-browsing over a glass of steaming vin chaud.

You’ll also find the very latest fashions from the slopes at the show, from designer jackets to high-tech ski gloves and sledges for tinies – and many superb discounts on ski equipment too.  Ellis Brigham are once more offering a full boot-fitting service for all those people who struggle to find a comfortable skiboot.  Here’s our guide to finding the perfect-fitting pair.

And be sure not to miss Father Christmas!  He’ll be putting in an appearance this year, from 2-3pm on 3-4 November in the Norway Resorts Bar.

You’ll find the show at London’s Earls Court 2 exhibition centre (nearest tube stations: West Brompton or Earls Court).  Entry costs £20 (£18 if prebooked online) for adults; £7 (£5 online) for children 11-16 years; under 11s go free.  This year, there’s also a family ticket covering 2 adults and 2 children for £35 (£25 online).

Thursday 1 Nov: 11:00 – 21:30
Friday 2 Nov: 11:00 – 19:00
