Monarch starts flights to Friedrichshafen

Monarch is introducing six new ski flights from Britain to Friedrichshafen airport in Germany this forthcoming season.

Direct flights, from Gatwick and Manchester, will run from 14 December this year until 14 April 2013, with prices starting from £79 return.

Departures from Gatwick will be on Friday and Saturday at 07.30 (arrive 1015); Sunday at 08.05 (arrive 1050); and Mondays at 14.45 (arrive 17.30).  From Manchester, flights will leave Saturdays and Thursdays at 0700 (arrive 10.00).  These early flight times provide real potential for sameday flying and skiing, depending on the distance to your resort.

Friedrichshafen is located in Southern Germany, beside Lake Constance (known as Bodensee in German), just a stone’s throw from the Swiss and Austrian borders.  Although relatively little-known, Bodensee-Airport Friedrichshafen is a real gem and, with the increased affordable air traffic in winter, a veritable gateway to the Alps.

As well as cheap flights, Friedrichshafen offers excellent ski transfer times by bus or train – with quick and easy access to over 50 ski resorts.

The Friedrichshafen train station is situated at the airport, providing superb rail connections to Austria and Switzerland as well as within Germany.  The airport is offering 90-minute transfers to a number of ski resorts including St. Anton, Lech, Zurs and Flims-Laax.
