Ski Train bookings start today for the winter season
Booking opens today for Eurostar Direct Ski Train tickets from London to the Tarentaise region of the French Alps. The Ski Train is operated by Rail Europe (http://www.raileurope.co.uk/) its new winter schedule starts on 11 December. From today, you can book your place right through until 12 January 2012.
The train stops are Moutiers, Aime and Bourg St Maurice station. From here is it an easy hop on public transport to numerous French resorts including La Plagne, Les Arcs, Tignes, Meribel and Val Thorens.
Why go by train? Well, apart from the obvious environmental appeal, there are several advantages: there are no charges for carrying ski equipment; kids have more space to move around; and if you take the overnight train (not recommended for tinies but great for families with older children), you get an extra day on the slopes.
