It’s official… the ski season has started!
Three resorts are now officially open in the US. Following some serious snowfall in Colorado last week, Wolf Creek took everyone by surprise and became the first American resort to open for the 2011/2012 season, exceptionally early in the season – on 8th October. It offered thousands of eager early-bird skiers superb powder conditions on 600 of its 1,600-acres of skiable terrain.
Usually the race for ‘first resort of the season’ is between the resorts of Loveland and Arapahoe Basin. Indeed, Arapahoe Basin opened today, hot-on-the heels of Wolf Creek, and Loveland is scheduled to open tomorrow.
