Prince Harry is to take part in a race to the South Pole, leading a team of wounded British military personnel against teams from America, Canada and Australia.

The 28-year-old Prince and his teammates are entering the 335km ‘Walking With The Wounded’ South Pole Allied Challenge which will take place late this year at the height of the Antarctic summer – during November and December.

At the event launch on 19 April at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in London’s Hyde Park, in his inimitable jokey style, practical joker Prince Harry remarked tongue-in-cheek to his counterparts that he would have a cup of tea “ready for you when you join us at the Pole.”
