Ten reasons to visit the 2015 Ski Shows

Bring your kids along to this year’s Ski & Snowboard Shows. There will be loads of exhibits and activities to keep them amused.  Family tickets cost £50 and children under 11 go free!

As usual there will be two shows, one in Manchester and one in London.

The show run from October 30 to November 1 at EventCity, Manchester – it’s the first time the show has taken place in Manchester over half-term – and in London from 5-8 November in Battersea Park (see our earlier report HERE about London’s new show format).

Here are our top 10 tips for a great family day out at this year’s Ski & Snowboard Shows:

In Manchester
1 Marvel at the tricks and stunts of the EXTREME Action Sports Tour with their dirt jumping, BMX and free-running demos (daily at the Manchester show).

Elsa and Ana

Sing-along to all your favourite Frozen songs

2 Join the Ice Queen and Snow Princess for a kids’ sing-along of all your favourite Frozen tunes on the fashion show stage from midday till 1pm on Sunday November 1 in Manchester.

3 The perfect gift for your competent teenage skier/shredder: Book a slot at the Warren Smith Ski Academy’s realtime Video Analysis Booth, for a 30-minute virtual one-to-one ski lesson (plus analysis, tips and pointers to improve your freeride, carving or mogul technique), worth £50!

4 Grab a free lift pass and put in some turns before you head out to the Alps on Chill Factore’s indoor slope.  They’ll be giving away 10,000 free lift passes.  Simply apply for yours when you book your ticket, then go and collect it at their stand.

5 Check out the hottest looks for the slopes this season at daily fashion shows. With a pulsing sound-track, professional dancers and give-away prizes, it’s perfect entertainment for your slouchy teens!

In London
6 Father Christmas is putting in an early appearance at the Norway resorts bar in London at 2pm on Saturday 7 November and Sunday 8 November.

7 Let Britain’s top freestyle riders inspire your teenagers at the London Ride and The BRITS  – two competitions which are being staged on Mount Battersea, a 50ft real-snow kicker during the London Show.  The BRITS is on Friday 6 November at 6pm, and the London Ride is on Saturday 7 November at 12.45.

8 Meet the stars of Team GB for a Q&A session or get a signed poster from such snowsport heroes as Jamie Nicholls, Aimee Fuller, Ro Cheshire and Chemmy Alcott in the Athletes’ Chalet.

9 Buy a combo-ticket with Battersea Fireworks and enjoy a dazzling display on the evening of Saturday 7 November.  Family tickets are £70 (a saving of £12) or a combined adult ticket for £28 (saving £5) if you kids are under 10, in which case they go free.

10 Tuck into some delicious Alpine cuisine at one of numerous food stalls in London and Manchester – we’ll be heading for the crêpes stand and tracking down the best hot chocolate (and possibly a glass or two of vin chaud along the way!..)

Here at FamilySkiNews, we have a handful of free tickets to give away to readers for the London Ski & Snowboard Show so we’ll be drawing names out of a hat next Monday – and you can choose which day you’d like to attend.

All you have to do is send us an email to contact@familyskinews.com stating you are entering the competition and then like us on Facebook HERE or follow us on Twitter HERE.

Your name then goes into a draw and if you are successful you just collect your tickets from the front desk. We will contact entrants to let them know whether they have been successful or not by Monday 2 November.
