Today is World Pasta Day!  Here at FamilySkiNews.com, we’re celebrating with a steaming pot of Alpine Macaroni, Swiss  Macaroni cheese with a twist,  otherwise known as Älplermagronen (Herdsmen’s Macaroni) – cheap, hearty, nourishing… ideal for shepherds on the Alp and perfect for family tea tonight!   

Let’s face it, whose kids don’t love pasta?…

What’s more, it’s easy enough for your kids to make themselves, with your guidance.

But remember, the secret of a good Alpine Macaroni is that it’s best served with a generous dollop of Swiss apple purée (Apfelmus).  Not essential but highly recommended! What a perfect way to use up some of those autumn windfalls.   You’ll find that recipe HERE.
