Let’s face it… it can be a real worry for some parents travelling high above the snow on chairlifts with fidgety kids.   We’ve all read the stories.

A new child-safe chairlift has been installed in the Austrian resort of St Anton, making sliding out of your seat impossible.

The new six-seater covered chairlift in St Anton replaces the old Tanzböden T-bar lift on the Galzig and features a special child safety system built by Doppelmayr.

Up to five children (over 90cm in height) can now travel with just one accompanying adult.  There is no risk of sliding out from the chairlift, thanks to the special construction.

It also has all the usual high-tech features – foot rests, automatic closing and opening system and all-weather protective hoods.  It’s 700m long and can transport up to 2000 people per hour.
