Mother and daughter ski holiday to Serre Chevalier

Teresa Fisher

Our of the FSN team is skiing with her daughter in picturesque Serre Chevalier this week – a child-friendly French resort with over 250km of snow-sure, tree-lined runs and peaks galore.

Needless to say, there’s plenty of snow – 13cm of fresh snow today alone, and more forecast. They’re currently skiing up to their knees in powder.  As it’s termtime, the pistes are ultra-quiet, with none of the lift queues you get in the holidays!

Here at FSN we love Serre Chevalier and it’s popular with French families too.  There are excellent creche facilities, plenty of family-friendly events in resort, a good choice of ski schools and, for beginners, there a dedicated nursery areas, and cheap daily lift passes covering a handful of easy runs.

The only snag this week is that it’s pretty chilly, and it’s quite windy on the upper elevations…  a good excuse for plenty of slopeside hot chocolate/vin chaud stops.

After long days on the piste and twizzling and jumping around at the fun park, it’s back into town for some apres ski.

Sarah and her daughter are enjoying the thermal baths together.  They say it’s “Absolute bliss”!
